The City of Maple Valley incorporated August 31, 1997. Maple Valley is 5.8 square miles in size. Since incorporation, the Maple Valley’s population has grown from 10,000 to almost 16,000.

Maple Valley High School is part of Tahoma School District. Maple Valley High School began in September 1987 with 30 students. Today the program as been expanded to include 77 students.
