Roosevelt Associates
Linda James M.S. M.ED. RC (206) 724-6857
Registered Counselor
9415 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115
Location: North of Ace Hardware, South of Walgreens
General Practice Area: I work with children, adult men and women and couples. I help couples with their relationship problems as they become more comfortable individually. Moving forward and leaving past hurts behind can improve our current intimate relationships. I have a great deal of experience working with women who did not receive the nurturing they needed while growing up and now find themselves with an emotional emptiness that they are trying to fill. When adult relationships fail to meet these needs, they feel disappointed, frustrated, and often angry with their partner or spouse. Repairing childhood and adult needs can pave the way to healthy relationships. Children need strategies to deal with school, social encounters, anger problems, etc. Parents need a neutral third party to help with the challenges that come up as their children pass through new stages and face new challenges. Let me join with you to help your child experience and choose paths that lead to success. I will gladly discuss faith issues with you, if you so desire. [ to counselor - therapist website ]

Julia Kay MSW, LICSW (206) 295-7707
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
7812 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115-4358
Niche Specialty©: Sexual Abuse. Counseling the depressed adolescent or adult victim / survivor of child sexual abuse.
Location: In the Maple Leaf Professional Building on the south side of Lake City Way in Northeast Seattle.
General Practice Area: I work with children, adolescents and adults individually and as a family. I utilize EMDR, Lifespan Integration, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strength based Narrative Therapy techniques and developmental psychology to help people who have experienced trauma, physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. Children and adolescents who are withdrawn, isolated, irritable, unhappy, angry, acting out or overly compliant, or who obsess over little things are all demonstrating warning signs that something is wrong. A sudden drop in performance or grades, a change in peer group, withdrawal from school or family activities, problems with sleep or energy level can all indicate an underlying problem. Arguing with parents may be a normal part of development, but arguing to the point where there is violent acting out (throwing things, hitting walls or people) or running away indicate a strong need for therapy. I also do social skills training with youth diagnosed with Autism and Asperger syndrome. [ Email Julia Kay ] [ to counselor - therapist website ]

Tanya Ruckstuhl-Valenti MSW LICSW EDMR Level 2 (206) 375-7690
2611 NE 125th Street, Suite 205, Seattle, WA 98125
Niche Specialty©: Trauma --emotional or physical. Addictions, anxiety and depression often have their roots in childhood and adult trauma. Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Repatterning) to process this trauma can provide relief, integration of experiences and greater emotional freedom more rapidly than using traditional talk therapy alone.

General Practice Area: Life is for living! If negative experiences and perceptions are interfering with your ability to lead a choice-filled, rich and full life, free from chronic fear and worry: therapy CAN HELP!
I enjoy working with a variety of clients including individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, addictions, and depression, couples seeking to deepen the quality of their connection, adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder/Hyperactivity Disorder—usually adults manifest this as more inattentive than classically hyperactive), and children over the age of eight years old.
Like many therapists I draw from multiple therapy models including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Repatterning), solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic, and Adlerian principles.
