Patty Desrochers MA LMFT (360) 490-5532 Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist 2142 W. Railroad Ave, Shelton, WA 98584 Niche Specialty©: Children and Adolescents. Prior to becoming a Marriage & Family Therapist I had a full career as a special educator. I have expertise in working with children of all ages and their families especially when it relates to a developmental difference (ADHD, Learning Disabilities, & Autism Spectrum DIsorders) that results in behavior that negatively impacts the child and/or teen within their family and school. General Practice Area: I generally work with children and their families, couples, and individuals. I utilize an integrated family systems approach that allows me to work with each client to understand how the whole context of their lives (i.e. family, partnerships, friendships, work life, school, spirituality, passions, health, etc...) function to support change. Clients generally seek my services for help with children struggling with behavior at school or at home related to any level of trauma (ex. witness to domestic violence, emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse) or life change (ex. separation or divorce, learning disorder or autism spectrum diagnosis) they may be adapting to. I also support couples to define what is missing in their relationships, heal from past hurt and resentment (ex. affairs, lack of affection), and build upon strengths to sustain the level of change they accomplished in counseling. I tend to treat individuals diagnosed with depression and anxiety, those in the grieving process, and those recovering from past or current traumas. [ Email Patty Desrochers ]
