Each individual experiences stress in their own way. Some become depressed, withdrawn, have nightmares, are anxious and overwhelmed most of the time, self medicate with alcohol/drugs, while others become angry or isolate; and can become physically ill.
I believe it is important to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to process and experience life issues. This provides a setting where a person may self-explore in order to access their personal history and to recognize how it affects their current relationships and behaviors.

Adult issues include: early childhood issues, major mental illness, depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, grief and loss, peer and workplace frustrations, life transitions, and adjustment to chronic illness and medical conditions. Therapy Groups offered for (a. new parents, (b. adult low self esteem and communication problems, (c. adults who are coping with grief, loss and bereavement, and (d. pre-adolescent girls with low self esteem. Modalities include Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My counseling approach is collaborative, mindful, creative, and strength-based. I have specialized training in directive and non directive play therapy for children, as well as sand tray therapy with children and adults.
