Prepare for a batch of new clients in January, February and May. CounselingSeattle.com shows a statistical decline each year in November and December with the low point on Friday, December 25, 2009 (Christmas Day) when 368 people visited CounselingSeattle.com. Ten days later, the site recorded the busiest day of 2010 when on Monday January 4th, 2010, with 2,918 visitors. January is the busiest month of the year. Few clients want to start counseling during the holiday season. But in the New Year they are full of hope and determination to improve their lives and relationships.
ADVERTISE YOUR THERAPY GROUPS NOW: If you are planning to offer therapy groups next year, now is the time to log in and list the therapist group. Even if you are planning to start the group in May or June, people are going to be looking for a group now. Advertise now and give them a chance to get onto your waiting list.

DOUBLE BILLING ON YOUR COUNSELINGSEATTLE.COM ACCOUNT? NOPE! : A number of people may notice extra charges from CounselingSeattle LLC on their credit card bills. Most likely explanation: A number of counselors are being charged this month for both past and current credit card changes. These are counselors who have been past due on their monthly payments because they forgot to log into CounselingSeattle.com and enter updated credit card information--expired credit cards, new credit cards, etc. We carry delinquent accounts for a short time and notify the counselors involved. Those counselors who respond are billed for the current and past due balance on their accounts. Those counselors who are notified and did not respond after notification have been removed from the website.
A STATEWIDE WEBSITE: For several years, CounselingSeattle.com has been concerned about counseling issues throughout the State of Washington. We are advertising counselors and referring clients throughout the state. Some counselors in remote areas questioned why they should advertise on a Seattle website. The answer of course is because we are not a Seattle website and public internet searches for a counselor in Port Townsend, Bellingham, Everett, or Olympia bring up CounselingSeattle.com--usually in first place. At any rate, to counteract this misperception, we have begun making changes. Some of you may have already noticed changes in some of the pages on the site. The change that is most easily notices is the new top-of-page banner "Counseling Washington State" replacing "CounselingSeattle.com." To reduce confusion about the identity of the site, we have reserved two domain names www.CounselingWashington.com and www.CounselingWashingtonState.com and redirected them to www.CounselingSeattle.com. The result? Click on any of those domain names and you end up on the home page of CounselingSeattle.com.
NEW WEBSITE DESIGN IN PROGRESS: We are working on specifications for a site redesign to incorporate much greater internal search ability. The new site will match or exceed the bells and whistles of any other counselor locator site—plus a little bit more. There will no longer be static pages and counselors will appear in different places on more pages. In addition to pages that show the counselors in the Green Lake area, each counselor will have a page of their own and a map showing their location and directions to their offices.
