AAMFT approved supervisor
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
1805 38th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122
Niche Specialty©: Couple or Marriage Counselor. About a third of my clients are couples, whether legally married or not, straight or same-sex, recently met or together for decades. If I do my job well, each member of a couple will feel supported and understood by me -- but, far more importantly, supported, understood, and treasured by their partner. Some couples use therapy to improve their relationship, some to end it with a minimum of damage, and some to make decisions about whether or not to remain together. I love working with couples -- it is complex, fascinating, and worthy work.
Location: My office is run out of Epiphany Episcopal Church, which is at the corner of 38th and Denny in Madrona, and is about half a mile from the Madison street entrance to the Arboretum
General Practice Area: I work with individuals (both adults and children), couples (straight and same-sex), and families (adults, children, and elders). My areas of interest include: marital/couples therapy; parenting questions, and the support of new parents; adoption, foster care, family blending; recovery from sexual abuse, for either children or adults; religious and spiritual questioning (clients will find me supportive, but not directive in this area); grief, loss, and survivors of a loved one's suicide; and the development of young women.
For a longer description of my work and interests, as well as a (terrible!) picture, please see my website: www.amandafranklin.net.
Because I work out of a church which does not charge me rent, I am able to see a few clients on a sliding scale basis, including those clients who can't usually manage to see a private clinician.
My work hours are Monday-Thursday, 4:00-9:00 pm, so I can nearly always accommodate a client who needs an evening appointment.

Kathy Underwood MSW LICSW (206) 293-8308
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
3300 East Union St., Seattle, WA 98122
Niche Specialty©: Other Mental Health Issues. I am specialized as a Sports and Performance counselor. I assist athletes with the mental aspect of their sport. I am also experienced working with the Lesbian and Gay population.
Location: East of Capitol Hill in the Madrona neighborhood.
General Practice Area: People enter therapy for different reasons and with different goals. The counseling services I provide include assisting adults individually or as a couple with depression, anxiety, chronic worry, acute transition and trauma. Some people come to therapy with known chronic issues, while others come with a sense
that “something isn’t right.” We often find ourselves repeating negative patterns of thought, feelings, behaviors, or relationships that do not serve our growth or happiness, yet we feel stuck or helpless about changing. Counseling can help us discover how to develop new positive patterns and understand the root causes of the past, negative patterns or belief systems.
The techniques I use to assist clients through change include Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Systems Theory, and Mindfulness practices.

Kate McGill MACP RC (312) 493-5711
Registered Counselor
1523 E. Madison St., Suite 10, Seattle, WA 98122 Location: I am located in a grey bldg called the Victorian House on the corner of 16th and Madison - across the street from the Madison CO-OP. General Practice Area: My focus is working with individuals and couples who are struggling through issues of self worth & self doubt, loneliness, depression, anxiety, grief &loss, intimacy and navigating life transitions.
My core belief is that each one of us works from a framework that is shaped out of an understanding we have of ourselves in the world. That understanding impacts how we relate to those around us and how you will relate to me. Counseling is a safe way to look at how your belief system works for you and where it keeps you in unhealthy patterns. It is my desire to make our time together as safe as possible for you and I to examine those patterns and learn how they serve or don’t serve you. I believe that each one of us is created to live fully from the uniqueness that we were born into; and to embrace that uniqueness. [ Email Kate McGill ]
