photo of counselor therapist Jody Myers of Seattle WA 98112Finding the Balance
Jody Myers,  MA, LMHCA  (206) 437-5623
Licensed Mental Health Care Associate
1812 E Madison Ave., Suite 107, Seattle, WA 98112
Niche Specialty©: Relationship Problems. I specialize in couple's work (with any gender combinations) to enhance understanding, communication and therefore intimacy. Noticing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual components, with compassion and kindness can create a shift which then enhances the closeness of a loving connection.
Location: near Trader Joe's
General Practice Area: Some people think, you have to be truly messed up, or your relationship has to be on the brink of ending, to come to therapy. I disagree with this viewpoint. Therapy is a time and place, like a special treat, where you get to pay attention and listen to what matters most: how you think and feel and what you want. You have lived through a lot of different experiences and transitions and to get to a place in your life where you now stand. And you might ask yourself (to quote the Talking Heads), "How did I get here?" It takes some time to figure that out. Maybe there are ways you could allow yourself to experience things differently. Maybe some of the tried and true responses no longer apply. Let's make some time, to listen to you and discover all the facets of you and how they are manifesting throughout your life and relationships. You can create it differently! I am using principles from Emotionally Focused Therapy, a systemic approach for couples is founded on a belief that when our intimate relationships are safe and secure, the rest of life is bette. I am non-judgmental and celebratory of the diversity of humanity, including the variety of sexual expression. I wish to serve couples and individuals to create and maintain happy, gratifying, rich, relationships with self and other(s). Sliding scale available. Please call 206-437-5623 to inquire.
