Bridgeworks Counseling LLC
Sarah Schmidt, MA, LMHC (360) 739-8783
Licensed Mental Health Counselor 103 E Holly ST, Suite #410, Bellingham, WA 98225 Location: Corner of Holly and Cornwall in downtown Bellingham. General Practice Area: Counseling for depression, anxiety, co-dependence, relationship problems, and stress management. Marriage and couples counseling including issues of emotional, sexual, relationship or marriage intimacy, communication, and conflict management. My goal is to help you bridge the gap between where you find yourself today and the life you hope for. The counseling relationship provides a unique opportunity to consider how you view yourself and others and then to further consider how those beliefs influence your style of relating. Therefore, your therapy may include exploring the dynamics of one's family of origin, self-esteem, history of abuse or abandonment, boundaries within relationships, and spiritual questions. I work with individual adults and couples. Evening and weekend appointments available. Sliding fee scale and reduced college student rate. Associates in Mental Health
Keith Poynter, MA, LMHC (360) 410-1751 Licensed Mental Health Counselor
1903 D Street, Suite #4, Bellingham, WA 98225 Niche Specialty©: Adolescents and teenagers. Serving young people who are attachment challenged, angry, oppositional, and engaging in high-risk behaviors. Location: Located across the street from Whatcom Middle School abutting Battersby Park. Office within Northwest Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine building. General Practice Area: I work with youth, young adults, and families experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, depression, anger, trauma/abuse, attention difficulties, drug/alcohol issues, and stress involving significant life transitions (death, divorce, loss). As well, if desired I support parents in recognizing how to support their child differently in order to bring more balance to the home.
I have worked predominantly with youth for over 15 years in a wide variety of settings including remote outdoor settings to front range office/home locations. I specialize in serving young people who are attachment challenged, angry, oppositional, and potentially engaging in drug use/abuse. I am accustomed to serving families who are in the midst of divorce or separation.
I utilize a therapeutic approach that is eclectic and draws on training received in Gestalt Therapy, Contemplative Psychology/Mindfulness, Behavior Psychology, and Wilderness Therapy. I attended Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. My work as a counselor is based in the belief that every human desires to live in a healthy manner and has within them the tools necessary to do so. My role is to support the growth of insight and awareness so that the client can access these personal tools and move through the challenges that are impeding their path towards a more whole and healthy self. I assist clients in doing so in a firm, empathetic, and compassionate manner. [ Email Keith Poynter ] [ Go to counselor - therapist website ]
