I have worked predominantly with youth for over 15 years in a wide variety of settings including remote outdoor settings to front range office/home locations. I specialize in serving young people who are attachment challenged, angry, oppositional, and potentially engaging in drug use/abuse. I am accustomed to serving families who are in the midst of divorce or separation.
I utilize a therapeutic approach that is eclectic and draws on training received in Gestalt Therapy, Contemplative Psychology/Mindfulness, Behavior Psychology, and Wilderness Therapy. I attended Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. My work as a counselor is based in the belief that every human desires to live in a healthy manner and has within them the tools necessary to do so. My role is to support the growth of insight and awareness so that the client can access these personal tools and move through the challenges that are impeding their path towards a more whole and healthy self.
