13. I’m looking specifically for someone who can provide EMDR
sessions and I am interested in finding out is if there is a certification
process that people are required to complete before stating that they provide
EMDR. I saw one ad that said that the woman was a “EMDR Level II Clinician.” That
got me curious, in shopping for someone who can provide EMDR, what certification
should I be looking for?

14. A counselor
question: Does
CounselingSeattle.com approve classes for Continuing Education (CE)
credit? If so, what is the process? I have a master’s
degree (MA) in Psychology and I am a Licensed Mental Health
Counselor (LMHC). I teach classes in “(topic deleted)” and I
would like counselor participants to receive CE credit. Any
information,
background or advice you can give me about continuing education
credits would be appreciated.

15. A counselor
question: I listed my practice on the TherapistUnlimited.com several years ago.
Now the listing is out of date and I want to change or delete the
listing. But I can't get TherapistUnlimited.com to do anything. I have emailed TherapistUnlimited.com numerous times;
however, TherapistUnlimited.com has
not responded to any of my requests. Is there somewhere that I
could mail a letter to the webmaster of TherapistUnlimited.com, or
call customer service on the telephone?

16. (A.) A question from a
potential counselor: I am planning to start school in the
winter in the Chemical Dependency program. I read through the
house bill 2674. Can you tell me in simple terms, what I will
be able to do with a two year AA degree? What is the potential
income and job availability? I am 56 years old and trying to
start a new career. I love to help people, however I do not
want to make a choice that will not allow me to earn a living.
I live in the tri-cities area. What does it mean when you can
only renew 4 times? Any information
positive or negative about CDPs and CDPTs would be greatly
appreciated.
(B.) Another question from a potential counselor:
I am interest in chemical dependency counselor as a career. I
have an Associate of Arts degree (AA) in general business from a
community college.
What courses would I
have to take to become a chemical dependency counselor in Washington
State?
(C.) Counselor question about private practice counseling:
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I have been doing
private practice counseling for 27 years. Some of my fellow
counselors say that I cannot continue to do private practice
counseling after July 1, 2009. My Papa used to say, “If you see it
on CounselingSeattle.com, it’s so.” Please tell me the truth;
will I have to give up
private practice counseling?
